Hi lovely, I’m Aimée, a soulful copywriter who helps lovely brands grow a joyful and thriving business. Here, on my Substack, I share seasonal tales from my little corner of the Cotswolds. Come on in, take off your boots, and cosy up by the fire. I’ll pop the kettle on.
Dot some pretty quail’s eggs around the table for decoration.
Forgo the Easter Egg and tuck into Harth’s Le Coq Gauloi au Chocolat instead.
Plant some spring bulbs in vintage teacups. Cover the soil with moss and mini eggs. Cowslip, muscari, and narcissi all work beautifully.
Make some botanical easter eggs.
Visit an open farm to see all the spring animals. (We love Cotswold Farm Park.)
Eat carrot cake at your local farm shop cafe.
Organise your own easter egg hunt in a beautiful garden.
Send Easter cards. Offer words of encouragement to those who’ve been struggling with the long, cold winter.
Switch to your summer perfume. (Mine’s Jo Malone’s Peony & Blush Suede.)
Make a pilgrimage to Beatrix Potter’s house in the Lake District.
Organise a spring tea party complete with cucumber sandwiches, Simmel cake, elderflower, and flowers.
Start a cosy crime novel. Rev Richard Coles’ books are my go-to reads at this time of year. (Spoiler alert: village drama, flower-arranging rota, and death by secateurs!)
Make a rosemary cake.
Gather swathes of cow parsley and arrange it in a beautiful jug.
Potter around the garden. Marigolds are Cosmos are ready to be planted.
Go on a picnic. Treat yourself to a brand-new picnic blanket.
Watch cosy episodes of Peter Rabbit and Friends on a projector one rainy afternoon.
Invite a friend over for hot cross buns and spiced Easter biscuits.
Roll eggs down a very large hill.
Asparagus is in season. It’s delicious slow-roasted and wrapped in prosciutto for a simple starter.
Get a candle that smells like spring. I’m loving Oliv’s Wild Mint & Camellia.
Make mini-egg fridge cake with any little people in your life.
Watch old episodes of Gardener’s World.
Find a ‘pick your own’ daffodil field near you.
Take out a subscription to Country Living.
Cook for your family on Easter Sunday. Juilus Roberts’ recipe for lamb, slow-cooked in beer, will go down a treat!
Experience the magic of Gifford’s Circus.
Go foraging for wild garlic. You can make a simple wild garlic pesto with carrot batons for dipping. Or, try Jamie’s Oliver’s recipe for wild garlic and sausage fusilli.
Go blossom spotting at Kew Gardens.
So many lovely ideas and so beautifully presented! Planning on going pony-spotting in the New Forest myself ☺️
So many lovely ideas here for the Easter weekend! I’ve already pottered in the garden and planned a lamb roast; now you’ve got me thinking about other treats to tick off!
